Mō mātou - About us

Our name, Enliven, is a celebration of our beginnings, our heritage and the values we share. Our homes and villages are places where older people have companionship, choice, variety, fun, meaningful activity and a sense of purpose. Being part of our team means the opportunity to share in our values-based approach and be part of a not-for-profit service specialising in the support of our elders.

Mō to tūranga - About the role

As a Recreation Officer at Woburn Home, you will plan and facilitate individual recreation plans for residents, as well as the overall recreation programme. This involves running daily activities with staff and volunteers, supporting our residents to pursue their interests, and planning the social calendar. You will encourage residents to maintain their independence, learn new skills and maintain connections with their community.

An ideal opportunity to give back to your community, spending time with our residents who have spent their lifetime doing exactly that!

The roles is 35 hours per week, Sunday to Thursday 9.00am to 4.30pm at Woburn Home in Lower Hutt.

Mō koe - About You

Passionate about the wellbeing of older people, you are enthusiastic but patient; well-organised with great interpersonal skills and sense of humour. You share our values of empathy, compassion, and respect.

We are looking for:

  • Experience working at Hospital Level of Care
  • A genuine interest in supporting the recreational activities in our Home.
  • Minimum of Careerforce Health & Wellbeing Certificate Level 2.
  • A qualification in Diversional Therapy would be great but we will consider someone with equivalent experience.
  • Full, clean New Zealand driver licence.

What’s in it for me?

Enliven offers a compassionate environment where upskilling and training are highly valued. We support our staff in gaining nationally recognised qualifications through paid study days and workshops.

You will also enjoy:

  • Hourly rate from $24.08 to $30.00 depending on experience and qualifications. Our progressive pay steps recognise your qualifications.
  • Free flu vaccinations as part of the Enliven wellbeing programme.
  • Certainty in your hours – set roster with opportunities to be flexible where needed.
  • Access to discounted healthcare cover and free employee assistance programme.
  • We also have discounts with major NZ retailers across the country.

We are a values-based organisation that cares about our staff members as much as we do about our residents. Come and find out more about the Enliven family and what makes us such a great place to live and work.
