About the role

The Nurse Practitioner role is a permanent part time position to provide NP services to Enliven homes. This role is Wellington based and offers 32 hours a week with an on-call component during the week and alternate weekends with the GP. 

This hands on clinical expert nursing role that promotes health, identifies preventable diseases, assesses, diagnoses and manages resident’s health needs. This is provided within an interdisciplinary model that best meets resident requirements and is in line with the vision and values of Presbyterian Support Central.

Your key responsibilities will be: 

  • Provision of advanced clinical expertise, professional leadership and advanced nursing knowledge and skills, in line with Enliven policy, procedures and the Eden philosophy 
  • Contribution to the delivery of business requirements including understanding the key drivers of business performance and assuring effective resource utilisation 
  • Use of expert clinical knowledge of acute, complex and chronic nursing care 
  • Documentation of all care provided, and education / information given to residents, family, whanau and/or EPOA within the Leecare resident management system in line with the health records standards (2002). 
  • Working collaboratively with GPs, NPs, specialists and managers

About you

To thrive in this role you will have a natural desire to achieve high standards and do this by having developed the following professional toolkit:

  • NZ Nursing council registration and current APC
  • A broad understanding of aged care 
  • The ability to drive clinical excellence and manage clinical risk
  • Demonstrated planning and organisational skills 
  • Computer literate with concise documentation skills
  • Excellent communication skills & a good sense of humour 
  • Fully Covid 19 vaccinated

In addition, you will be someone who enjoys getting the most out of others, you will be approachable and build strong working relationships with your colleagues and the teams you support across the organisation.  You will be keen to work with the Eden principles that are fundamental to the way we do things at Enliven and you will value the core principles under which we operate.  You will have the flexibility to travel across our sites, which may, at times involve overnight stays.
