About the Role

As a Kitchen hand, you will be responsible for assisting the Food Services Team Leader to prepare and serve tasty and nutritious means for lunch and dinner. You will also:

  • Prepare and cook morning and afternoon tea
  • Clear tables when all residents have finished eating
  • Ensure meals are served at the appropriate size and temperature 
  • Maintain daily food and fridge temperature checks 

The role is 30 hours per fortnight. The shifts are:

Week 1 | Monday, Tuesday 1600-2000

Week 2 | Monday, Tuesday 1600-2000; Saturday, Sunday 0800-1530

About you

As well as a passion for the wellbeing of older people, you will be enthusiastic but patient and well organised with great interpersonal skills and sense of humour. You will share our values of empathy, compassion, and respect.

You will also have:

  • Experience working in a kitchen (preferred)
  • Good communication skills
  • High standards of personal hygiene and appearance
